Background

Andrea was first admitted to practice in Queensland in 1993 and has been practicing as a solicitor in New South Wales since 1997.  She joined Curwoods as a Senior Associate in January 2006.

Experience

Whilst Andrea started her career working in a variety of different areas, including Legal Aid for Family Law and Criminal matters and plaintiffs in public liability and workers compensation claims, her primary focus since 1996 has been working for CTP insurers.

Andrea worked as a Litigation Consultant for (then) FAI Insurance, managing a large portfolio of catastrophic claims, preparing training manuals and conducting training.  She also helped to develop and monitor appropriate KPIs for CTP claims, as well as auditing files and undertaking project work.

Andrea has been appearing as an Advocate on behalf of insurers in CARS matters since the inception of the scheme and has a great depth of experience in this regard, including advising clients on initial issues, gathering required information, drafting detailed submissions and running matters before the CARS Assessor.

Andrea brings a measured approach to claims management and is settlement focused in all cases.
