Background

Nick Gordon is a solicitor, practising in New South Wales since 2001.

Experience

Nick has acted for insurers and their clients in matters including a variety of occupiers’ liability claims; slip and fall shopping centre claims; and personal injury claims.  Nick also has experience in commercial debt recovery, dust diseases, WorkCover prosecutions, and property damage matters in many jurisdictions.

Whilst undertaking this work, Nick has developed significant advocacy experience, having appeared in multiple courts in a wide range of matters.  During this period, Nick has also had conduct of a large number of files ranging from Small Claims matters in the Local Court to large scale District Court matters.

Nick has:

• successfully acted for WorkCover in a prosecution against a company that had unsafe welding practices resulting in a guilty plea and a significant fine.
• successfully defended a food manufacturer and distributor in relation to a property damage claim arising out of a motor vehicle accident resulting in a favourable verdict.
• acted for a high profile shopping centre in relation to a large public liability claim arising out of a slip and fall where a settlement was achieved for a significantly reduced amount.
